Rani Yahya is an amazing competitor, as both a submission grappler and MMA fighter. He has won 3 World Championships in BJJ. Also, at the age of 18, he was invited to the 2003 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships where he made it to the quarter-finals. Then, at the age of 20, he competed in the 2005 ADCC and placed 2nd, barely losing to Leo Viera on points in overtime of the finals. Finally, in 2007, at the age of 22, he became the Lightweight ADCC World Champion, submitting Leo Vieira in the finals. In 2009, Rani competed in the ADCC’s for the 4th consecutive time, reaching the semi-finals before he was injured.
Today, Rani is considered one of the greatest No Gi Jiu Jitsu competitors of his generation, known for his Constrictor style of Jiu Jitsu. Rani learned the Constrictor style from his life-long Instructor Atiade Junior, head of the Constrictor Team in Brasilia, Brazil. Rani concentrates on an aggressive, constantly attacking top game, with an amazing variety of submissions. Rani’s Contrictor Jiu Jitsu system is extremely well-suited for MMA as well as No Gi Jiu Jitsu, and is the same school of Jiu Jitsu that UFC fighter Paulo Thiago comes from.
