Boungnaphonh Makthepharaks, better known as Kru Mark (Kru means Teacher in Thailand), is a Master Muay Thai Coach. He has over thirty years of experience teaching, coaching and competing in professional tournaments around the world, winning a Muay Thai World Championship in the process.
Kru Mark is the son of 4-star General Bounpone Makthepharaks, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Laotian army. Like his father, he started training Muay Thai at the age of 5 and started fighting when he was 8. Also like his father, Kru Mark served in the military, working with the U.S Special Forces in Vietnam, until his capture by Communists in the spring of 1975. After being held for six months in a POW camp, Kru Mark escaped and emigrated to the U.S., where he has been teaching Muay Thai ever since.
Kru Mark’s style of Muay Thai has been passed down from father to son for five generations. His fighting system, called DETH KO SIN, draws from ancient Muay Thai combat techniques that were used in hand to hand fighting during battle.
