Muay Thai (also known as the art of 8 limbs) is a devastating fighting system allowing the use of eights points of contact, including hands, feet, elbows and knees. Like all the martial arts we teach, Muay Thai has ancient roots (see Muay Thai for more info).
While Muay Thai has evolved into a competitive sport, the original combative techniques are still practiced in certain styles of Muay Thai. This is why we teach 2 different styles of Muay Thai at The Arena.
The first is a Combat style of Muay Thai taught by Kru Mark, who teaches his family’s style of Muay Thai called Deth Ko Sin. It has been passed down from father to son for the past 5 generations, originating from Thai battlefield combat.
We also have a Sport/MMA style of Muay Thai taught by Felipe Portela, a Brazilian Chute Boxe Academy Muay Thai and MMA Fighter. Chute Boxe is the team that launched Anderson Silva, Shogun Rua, Wanderlei Silva, Cris “Cyborg” Santos, etc.
The Arena offers a variety of other classes, including:
