The Arena’s San Diego Jiu Jitsu program focuses on No Gi Jiu Jitsu training due to the constant domination by its practioners in Grappling tournaments across the world. These tournaments include the ADCC, the IBJJF National, Pan American and World Championships, Grapplers Quest, NAGA, and more. This domination by No Gi Jiu Jitsu competitors leaves no doubt about the effectiveness of this style.

We have great No Gi Jiu Jitsu instructors who have won World/Pan-American/National championships. Our classes are particularly well-suited for competitors who want to learn an aggressive, top-control submission style, whether for Grappling or MMA.

Jiu Jitsu is a subset of Submission Grappling / Wrestling. It has evolved over thousands of years like all Wrestling related systems, but is now a modern sport. Worldwide, Submission Grappling is now managed by The International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA), the main governing body for Wrestling worldwide. FILA calls the sport Grappling and includes it as 1 of the 5 main styles of Wrestling (see Grappling for more info).
