The Arena’s San Diego Jiu Jitsu program offers both No Gi Jiu Jitsu training as well as training with the Gi. No Gi Jiu Jitsu simply means wearing shorts and a t-shirt or rash guard while practicing or competing. Gi Jiu Jitsu means training or competing with the traditional uniform or “kimono”. While we feel No Gi Jiu Jitsu has the best cross-over to MMA, we also teach Gi Jiu Jitsu because it helps sharpen a person’s grappling game due to its more technical aspects.
With 23 Gi and No Gi Jiu Jitsu classes weekly, we have one of the most well rounded Jiu Jitsu programs in the country. We also have the best priced Jiu Jitsu program in the country. We charge $75 monthly, have 4 Jiu Jitsu Black Belts teaching (all Professional MMA Fighters as well as seasoned Jiu Jitsu competitors), and include more than 70 other classes in our membership. The value we offer is simply unbeatable.
Our students and coaches compete in a variety of Jiu Jitsu events, including the ADCC’s, the IBJJF National, Pan American and World Championships, Grapplers Quest, Grappling X, etc. Our instructors are all great teachers who will help you develop your Jiu Jitsu game quickly.
Note: Jiu Jitsu is a subset of Submission Grappling / Wrestling. It has evolved over thousands of years like all Wrestling related systems, and is now a modern sport. Submission Grappling is now managed by FILA, the main governing body for Wrestling worldwide. FILA calls the sport Grappling and includes it as 1 of the 5 main styles of Wrestling (see Grappling for more info).
